I quattro

Merkavah

Il carro di fuoco di EzechieleIn 573 B.C., at the Chebar canal in the heart of Lower Mesopotamia, an irrigation canal that flowed from Babylon to Uruch, for about 160 km, begins a new biblical adventure with the prophet Ezekiel. Around this city, more than 1,200 years before, Abraham heard the Lord say to him: «Get out of your country, from your homeland and from your father’s house to the country that I will show you. I will make you a great people and I will bless you» (Gen 12,12). In this land in 582-581 B.C., the Jews were deported. We speak of the Babylonian captivity period.

The prophet Ezekiel along this channel of irrigation had the well-known vision of the “Merkavah”, the Chariot of Fire of Yahveh (Ezekiel Chapter 1): «[4] I looked and behold a hurricane advancing from the north, a great cloud and a whirlwind of fire, which shone all around, and in the middle it could be seen as a flash of incandescent electro. [5] In the center appeared the figure of four animate beings, of which this was the aspect: they had human semblance [6] and each had four faces and four wings. [7] Their legs were straight and the hooves of their feet were like the hooves of the feet of a calf, resplendent like polished bronze. [8] Under the wings, on the four sides, they had human hands; all four had the same appearance and their own wings, [9] and these wings were joined to one another. While they were advancing, they did not turn back, but each went straight ahead. [10] As for their features, each of the four had human features; then lion features on the right, features of a bull on the left and, each of the four, features of an eagle. [11] Their wings were spread upwards; each had two wings that touched and two that covered the body. [12] Each one moved before him; they went where the spirit directed them and, moving, they didn’t turn back».

The four

It is interesting to point out that the four sacred animals of Merkavah, lying on a geometric structure in the shape of an open pyramid, consisting of a square and four lateral triangles (wings) and with the same triangles placed in the shape of a wingspan, are present in pictograms dated 5000 B.C. belonging to the Neolithic sanctuary near the Porto Badisco’s “Cave of the Deer” (Grotta dei Cervi) in the Otranto(LE) territory (Apulia – South Italy).

The cave, managed in a period between the Upper Paleolithic and the Eneolithic by the Salento shamanic lineages, which we have already discussed in previous articles (see link http://bit.do/e2UiH and http://bit.do/e2UiV, was an initiatory place where young preadolescents were trained to ascetic tantric-type techniques and precisely to techniques of Merkavah or the Chariot of Fire, also intended as a superior ascetic experience.

According to the Bible, already in the antediluvian age the seventh prophet Enoch, the man who walked with God and lived 365 years on earth before God took him, ascended with his own Chariot of Fire (Merkavah or Merkabah) and was kidnapped in sky.

Objective feedback on the presence of similar knowledge, related to the biblical Merkavah, we find in Egypt of the Pharaohs, presumably datable around the third millennium B.C. and therefore later than the Neolithic ones of the Grotta dei Cervi. The Egyptologists date the Great Pyramid of Cheops 2560 B.C. It is essential to know that the word that best defines the pyramid, but also the concept of rotation, in the Egyptian language, is precisely the word MER (sound). The Jewish Merkavah equation thus becomes the Egyptian MER KA BA, where the KA represents the spirit-energy (etheric body) and the BA represents the body-soul (soul body). Therefore in synthesis rotation or rather counter-rotation with pyramidal shape of soul body and etheric body.

In reality, much of the Jewish priestly knowledge related to Merkavah and kept strictly secret, was transmitted by Moses and Aaron to the new Jewish priestly structure after the Egyptian exodus. On the basis of documented historical sources, we can date the event of the exodus between the 10th and 13th century B.C.: the Yahwist source in fact traces it back to around 1000 B.C., while the Elohist one dates back to the end of the 8th century B.C. The so-called priestly source (Priestercodex) of the 5th century B.C. The various sources, merged into the current Book of Exodus, show some discrepancies. The Ipuwer Papyrus, found in 1909 and dated between the nineteenth and thirteenth centuries B.C., refers to natural and social cataclysms similar to the wounds narrated in the Book of Exodus. Archaeological excavations confirm this last hypothesis as they brought to light traces of violent destruction of some cities in the land of Canaan, between 1250 and 1150 B.C.

The aspects related to the mysterious knowledge of the Merkavah, or the Chariot of Fire, according to biblical teachings and according to those of Anthroposophy, require further study, not only linked to the compendium of techniques implemented with the Buddhist path of the Diamond-Thunderbolt (Vajrayana) but also with the longevity of figures like Enoch (365) and Methuselah (700). Modern anthroposophy explains how the transformation of ordinary breath into vegetable breath can determine these transmutations for which we will provide subsequent discussions of merit.
